Artist: Richard Nelson

Journalistic Photographer Richard Nelson has traveled to six European countries and Kenya, East Africa. He has worked as a freelance writer, photographer and radio announcer for Christian media with over 15 years of experience. He has participated in numerous photography competitions and regularly shows his artistic images in area venues.

Throughout his career Richard has spent time honing his photographic skills and has developed a series of macro floral photos. “Years ago, when I began photographing and sharing florals, I discovered that I and many others were missing a beautiful and amazing world subtlety hidden in our midst,” says Richard about his floral series, “After discovering amazing and interesting colors, shapes, shadows, and textures, I now look with a more discerning and appreciative eye at this hidden world and see it being revealed. I look for ways to open this world up to others as well as myself, and thus share its beauty, as simple as a water-spotted leaf or petal, or incredibly complex in color, shape, and composition.”
